Emergency escape trolley for Royal Bournemouth Hospital

News

Trying out the new trolley is senior radiographer Wendy Eden, with MRI assistant Neal Ryan, senior radiographer Sandra Bain, Wolverson X-Ray regional sales manager Gurpal Matharu and superintendent radiographer Matthew Benbow.

To enable emergency escape for patients undergoing MRI at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, a special patient trolley has been supplied by Wolverson X-Ray Limited.  Hand-built by a UK company, the trolley will be permanently positioned in the MRI suite.   Superintendent radiographer Matthew Benbow explained: “I needed a cost-effective yet sturdy trolley for the rare occasion that we might need to safely remove a patient from the MRI scanner.  I did not need the trolley to be over-complicated, and therefore, it was constructed at a competitive price.  After discussing our requirements, it was manufactured to match the height of our scanning couch to avoid delays if transferring a patient quickly.”
