Familiar interface improves efficiency of Whittington’s ultrasound platform pair

Whittington Hospital in London has selected two Samsung machines, supplied by MIS Healthcare, for obstetrics and gynaecology diagnostic ultrasound. Although the Hera W10’s primary use is for obstetric scanning, the team also utilises the platform for applications including general abdominal, MSK and gynaecology including 3D transvaginal scanning. The W10s are managed and procured by Althea.

Lead sonographer Melissa Di Rubbo said: “Samsung definitely does more than phones. The Samsung equipment is user friendly and there has been great ongoing support.”

The image quality and expert tools are expected to allow professionals at the hospital to make more confident decisions. Whittington’s team has found the Hera W10’s customisable user interface to be easy to use and the ability to mimic the interface of existing systems in the department has helped increase familiarity and efficiency when switching between different rooms.
