Former chair Dobson takes up role as AXREM director of government affairs

Following substantial growth over the last four years, AXREM has appointed a director of government affairs. The role reflects the transformation the association has gone through in recent years, already having more high level communications with government, which it is looking to increase.

Former AXREM vice chair and chair Ila Dobson has been appointed to the role. Dobson’s career spans many years in the industry having previously held a number of global, European and UK leadership roles across business operations, commercial sales and service. She has driven key initiatives such as integration, innovation in AI, procurement, optimisation of customer processes and workforce. She has been involved with AXREM for more than 25 years and has a good working relationship with its members and the industry as a whole.

Dobson will work with AXREM to give the association more visibility in government and across parties, generate more political engagement, organising meetings with parliamentarians and working with MPs to table questions in Westminster debates. She will also engage with key stakeholders to scope and shape targeted issues and initiatives for the industry.

Dobson commented: “This is a very exciting opportunity to represent AXREM and work collaboratively with UK government, the NHS and healthcare organisations to understand our patients’ needs, analyse the gaps and develop strategies to bring innovative, effective solutions from our industry to the table for the best outcomes.

“I am really looking forward to continuing the great work with the AXREM team, all its members and Sally Edgington, who since her appointment has been a superb leader and driving force behind so many of AXREM’s engagements and achievements in our healthcare market.”
