From novice to expert

The inaugural professorial lecture by Professor Gill Marshall, a new fellow of the College of Radiographers, took place on the University of Cumbria’s Lancaster campus. Gill is chair in Medical Imaging Education, Senior Fellow and National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy at the University of Cumbria and is currently also visiting professorial chair in Sydney.
Entitled “From novice to expert: My radiological journey through higher education,” the lecture covered Gill’s career from arrival at St Martin’s College (now University of Cumbria) in 1992 with no experience of teaching in higher education through to and beyond her having a professorial chair conferred in 2007, hence from novice to expert.
