Future Medical at The Purple Ball

Future Medical Equipment has supported a national charity dedicated to raising awareness of epilepsy, by sponsoring a fund-raising event. The Purple Ball took place at The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare to raise money for SUDEP Action.

Epilepsy is responsible for 21 UK deaths a week, with 42 per cent of these deaths being identified as avoidable. The most common cause is from sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP).

Now in its second year, 400 guests gathered at the charity ball to raise awareness and money in memory of Johdi Russell from Cheddar who died aged 17 years from epilepsy in 2017.

Future Medical’s sales director Leon Parsons said: “It was a fantastic event and it was great to see so many people gathered to raise money for such a worthy cause. The charity is very close to our hearts, so I was delighted we were able to be a sponsor. It raises much-needed money to help further spread the word of the dangers of epilepsy.”
