Gateshead team chooses MRI with advanced technology

Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead has replaced its MRI scanner with a Philips Ingenia 1.5T system that offers an improved signal-to-noise ratio.
Lead radiographer MRI Debbie Bainbridge said: “The system was chosen as it has the most advanced technology on the market. It is the first digital broadband MRI scanner that can improve SNR by up to 40 per cent. These features, coupled with the integrated coil system, have helped us to improve image quality and patient throughput. The wider bore has also made the MRI scanning experience much less claustrophobic for our patients.”
