At the handover of a Hologic ATEC vacuum assisted biopsy system to the London Breast Clinic in Harley Street are radiographer Jenny Sanmogan, Hologic radiology sales specialist Louise Wilcox, consultant breast radiologist Dr Will Teh and senior radiographer Sally Bucklitsch.
To complement the acquisition of a Hologic Selenia Dimensions digital mammography system capable of tomosynthesis, the clinic has become the first healthcare provider in the UK to use tomosynthesis-guided biopsy using the Hologic ATEC system.
Dr Teh said: “This equipment will help improve the accuracy in screening and symptomatic review of ladies, particularly those with dense breasts. It also uses tomosynthesis to guide vacuum biopsies which greatly assists the speed and accuracy of breast biopsies.”
