North Manchester General Hospital, part of the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, has purchased two Toshiba ultrasound systems for its antenatal department.  The Aplio 400 scanners come with Toshiba’s SMI (superb micro-vascular imaging) technology.

Clinical lead specialist sonographer Zoe Mottram said: “We have used Toshiba ultrasound equipment for many years and currently have other machines within the trust.  It was an overwhelming decision from the staff to choose Toshiba again due to the superior image quality and ease-of-use, allowing staff to accomplish their role with minimum effort and maximum quality, which ultimately supports good quality patient care.

“The new machines have the high specification we require to deliver the National Fetal Anomaly screening programmes due to the excellent image quality.”
