Delegates, speakers and Hologic staff on the second day of the breast health meeting.
The 2016 Scottish National Breast Health Educational meeting took place in April at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh. Nearly 100 of Scotland’s mammographers, imaging managers and radiologists enjoyed a varied programme of presentations, interactive workshops and networking sessions with industry experts from Hologic and Vertec.
The two-day meeting was chaired by Dr Hilary Dobson OBE, clinical director for West of Scotland Breast Screening, and regional lead cancer clinician at West of Scotland Cancer Network, who introduced keynote national and international speakers. Lectures were given on product research and development from Hologic, localisation of breast cancers using radioactive iodine seeds, the role of the advanced practitioner, emerging imaging technologies specifically screening with tomosynthesis, and the use of contrast enhanced 2D mammography in assessment patients.
Delegates were able to see the latest range of Hologic equipment during the hands-on product workshop and interacted with industry experts during the tomo biopsy and applications and service workshops where they were invited to ask questions relevant to their own clinical practice.
