Hospital team scoops national safety award

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust was announced the winner of the Health Service Journal’s Patient Safety Team of the Year Award at the annual Patient Safety Congress in Manchester. The award is given in recognition of an organisation that has made outstanding improvements to patient safety.
Nine other organisations were shortlisted for the award, but UHCW came out on top for its work to transform how hospital incidents are reported, shared and learnt from. The trust is partnered with the Virginia Mason Institute as part of the NHS Improvement’s (NHSi) ongoing continuous improvement programme. Pictured are trust staff Casandra Marinoni, Heidi Rounce, Adele Tidman, Yas Chauhan, Chelsea Gilsenan, Amy Watts, Justin King, Stephen Tipper, Rachel Dunne, Jenna Nixon, Kiran Paul and Louise Siddall.
