Hywel Dda standardises breast care across the board

Radiology services manager Barry Denton, mammographer Alison Scutt, lead mammographer Wendy White and Hologic breast health sales specialist Jenny Campbell at Withybush Hospital.

Following a significant upgrade to its breast health facilities funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, Hywel Dda University Health Board now offers 3D digital breast imaging.  Upgrades at Withybush Hospital in Pembroke, and Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth have complemented the facilities at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, with Hologic Selenia Dimensions mammography equipment now operating in all three hospitals.

Lead mammographer Wendy White at Withybush was positive about the applications training and the service levels received and added: “We are pleased to be offering our ladies a much better quality of care and we look forward to expanding the service in the coming months.  Our new equipment has been extremely reliable and, as one who was initially skeptical about the technology, I am delighted with the results and the opportunity it has provided.”
