Iced cake to mark 1000th patient

MR superintendent radiographer David McCafferty with 1000th patient Samantha Lindsay and sector superintendent radiographer for North Glasgow Mr Murray Crichton.

Stobhill MRI department recently celebrated the scanning of the 1000th patient with its Philips Achieva 1.5T MRI scanner.  Equipped with the all latest software packages, the system is located at the new Stobhill Hospital, which opened earlier this year.  The 1000th patient was Samantha Lindsay from the village of Chryston in North Lanarkshire who enjoyed a slice of a celebration cake.

The Achieva, one of the most advanced clinical MRI systems available today, will enable the hospital to introduce new scanning applications, including diffusion sequences for pelvic imaging and total body imaging.  ExamCards make the system more user-friendly and aid departmental efficiency.
