iMedDoc and xWave Technologies partner to make radiology referrals simpler and faster
iMedDoc, part of healthcare technology company Lanas, has partnered with xWave Technologies to deliver a fully digital radiology referral workflow for clinicians across Ireland. The integration embeds radiology referral platform xWave Refer directly into the iMedDoc electronic medical record system, enabling clinicians to create, send and track referrals without leaving their workflow. The collaboration is designed to simplify the referral process, reduce administrative burden and support faster access to imaging, helping clinicians focus more on patient care and less on manual tasks.
“Radiology referrals are a key part of patient care, but manual workflows and disconnected systems often slow things down,” said Lanas MD Stuart van Rooyen. “By connecting iMedDoc with xWave, we’re giving clinicians a smoother, more reliable way to manage referrals, helping them save time, reduce stress and ensure patients get the care they need quickly.”
The integration is already live at St Vincent’s Private Hospital (SVPH), Dublin, Ireland, where clinicians can now generate digital referrals directly from iMedDoc and the Clinical Portal. Healthcare/diagnostics informatics manager Tim Aseervatham said: “xWave Refer with clinical decision support has allowed SVPH to generate digital referrals to support our radiology pathway. It’s a simple, effective solution that fits naturally into how we work.”
