Investment in Enfield private hospital boosts fluoroscopy provision

The Cavell Hospital in Enfield has opened its re-developed fluoroscopy service. It follows a £1 million investment by owners Circle Health Group, which has begun a £165 million investment programme over the next two years. A GE Healthcare Innova IGS 540 fluoroscopy system with Embo Assist allows the clinician to see internal organs in motion, making it easier to diagnose or treat patients with a range of conditions.

Executive director Lisa Douglas said: “The investment in our facilities and services represents a commitment to ensuring that patients have access to the best care possible. Our fluoroscopy service has been in high demand and the arrival of the new machine and interventional suite has been welcomed by patients and doctors.”

The fluoroscopy equipment and accompanying interventional suite will offer an enhanced treatment process. It will also allow specialists to offer a wider range of procedures such as embolisations, pain injections, cystograms and angioplasty.

With specially designed changing rooms and a comfortable waiting area, the layout of the suite ensures the patient can move from the waiting area to the theatre where the fluoroscopy machine is located with ease and minimal discomfort. Reducing the distance patients travel between facilities ensures a more efficient service.
