Irish x-ray award winners chosen from high calibre nominees
IIRRT president Theresa O’Donovan, RSM Margaret Dervan and senior radiographers Maeve Darcy and Avril Hanly from Portiuncula Hospital with Medray managing director Aidan O’Reilly.
The Irish Institute of Radiography and Radiation Therapy (IIRRT) and Medray Imaging Systems announced the winners of the 2016 Irish X-ray awards in October to members attending the IIRRT annual conference in Dublin.
Following online voting, site visits and patient input, the Radiography Department of the Year Award 2016 went to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, Co Galway and the Radiation Therapy Department of the Year 2016 went to St Luke’s Hospital, Rathgar, Dublin.
The Award for Radiographer of the Year 2016 was presented to Gerald Orpen from the Mater Misercordiae Hospital, Dublin, while the Award for Radiation Therapist of the Year 2016 was presented to Niamh Carroll from St. Luke’s Hospital, Rathgar.
