Escorting the Duke of Kent on a tour of the diagnostic centre, service manager Jo Hodgson explains the function of the Siemens DR x-ray room.
The Duke of Kent visited the NHS Rotherham Diagnostic Centre as part of the official opening ceremony for the Rotherham Community Health Centre.
The community centre, which was opened in December 2008, is a £12m investment as part of the St Pauls development within Rotherham.
It is a state-of-the-art building with a central glass atrium, coloured windows and metallic brickwork. It was designed to meet the health needs of the local population for the 21st century and houses a number of community-based services such as dental, podiatry, physiotherapy, speech therapy, phlebotomy, audiology and walk-in-centre, GP practice and two theatre suites.
