Kerry’s A&E benefits from sophisticated DR

A direct digital radiography room has been opened in the A&E department of Kerry General Hospital, Tralee, Republic of Ireland.

An Xograph Triathlon T2 motorised auto-positioning x-ray system with three Canon DR detectors (one fixed and two sizes of wireless portable detector) has increased efficiency and workflow to enhance staff and patient experience, according to acting radiography services manager Anna Marie O’Flaherty.  She added: “The radiology staff commend the DR system on its user friendliness and its ability to optimise radiation dose, along with the high resolution images and the detail that they can perceive. Overall, this sophisticated digital radiography system facilitates improved radiographic examination times and patient comfort.”
