Stille Medstone imaging table

Leicester General Hospital has received a C-arm imaging table from Wolverson X-ray to replace an old table that had served the hospital well for many years. Wolverson arranged a loan of its demonstration table to bridge the period between ordering and delivery.

The new Stille Medstone table is designed to give the maximum unobstructed imaging area. The 360º rotation radiation-free coverage around the longitudinal axis of the carbon fibre tabletop makes it ideal for 3D imaging procedures and studies. It is a three movement model controlled via a hand pad or a footswitch, but is available in a combination of movements, including a smooth five axis model to suit many procedures. With its large, low dose surface area and small footprint, it is suitable for pain management clinics or operating theatres for C-arm procedures.

Superintendent radiographer Sarita Modi commented: “This table is ideal for the procedures that we are performing in a temporary set up, procedures such as fistuloplastys and line insertions.

“The C-arm can easily move around the table, making the procedure seamless. It is easy to clean and the attachable accessories ensure that radiation protection standards are met.”
