Local FC manager opens scanner at RAH

Seated on the scanner couch are Royal Alexandra Hospital superintendent radiographer Kate Donald, CT radiographer Helen O’Hanlon and CT lead radiographer Gavin Crook. Behind them are Toshiba Medical Systems general manager for CT, MRI and x-ray Alistair Howseman and account manager Scott Kearton, St Mirren FC manager Danny Lennon and consultant radiologist Dr Graeme Simpson.
St Mirren Football club manager Danny Lennon officially opened a Toshiba CT scanner at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, Scotland.
The Aquilion CXL 128 multislice system replaces an existing unit and will enable the hospital to improve the throughput and service it offers to patients. The helical CT system, with a 64-row detector provides advanced innovations in multislice CT technology.
Lennon said: “St Mirren FC has always had a great relationship with the hospital and I feel very privileged to have been asked to perform this ceremony for the RAH. It is a tremendous piece of equipment operated by a wonderful group of staff. They do a fantastic job and if I, or any of my players, can help out in any small way then it is our duty as first and foremost we are a community club.”
