MES helps equip Leeds SPECT/CT unit

A long-term partnership between Medipass Healthcare and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has brought Leeds Cancer Centre’s nuclear medicine department to the forefront of technology. Consultant radiologist and clinical lead for nuclear medicine Dr Fahmid Chowdhury said: “The flexibility of the MES provided by Medipass Healthcare has been instrumental in making world-leading technology available to our patients at a time of considerable financial restraints in the NHS.”
Dr Chowdhury toured the new SPECT/CT suite with trust chief executive Julian Hartley. Explaining the importance of the equipment he said: “The completion of the suite at Leeds Cancer Centre is a real milestone for our service. GE Healthcare’s Discovery 670 and 670 Pro will ensure that our patients now have access to the latest gamma camera and CT technology working in tandem, allowing us to improve both the patient experience and our diagnostic capabilities across a broad spectrum of nuclear medicine scans.”
