BIR/DeepHealth Mayneord Memorial lecture awarded to Professor Rockall

BIR Mayneord Memorial lecture

President of the European Society of Radiology and clinical chair in radiology at Imperial College London Professor Andrea Rockall has been presented with the BIR/DeepHealth Mayneord Memorial lecture award by president of The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) Dr Nicholas Screaton. In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Professor Rockall was also made an honorary fellow of the institute, at the 2024 BIR Annual Congress in London.

Following the award presentation, Professor Rockall delivered her lecture titled ‘Multidisciplinarity: the essence of care and innovation in imaging.’ Her talk focused on the advances in medical imaging and how multidisciplinary meetings and broader collaboration will help work towards improving imaging practices. Innovation and technical progress have been fuelled by strong partnerships between academia and industry, she said, and this ongoing digital transformation will bring together specialists from various fields to better patient care.
