Bob Childe continues to drive AXREM’s development as new vice chair

Bob Childe and Huw Shurmer

AXREM has appointed Bob Childe, chief commercial officer at Soliton IT, as its new vice chair. Childe will support current chair Huw Shurmer in leading AXREM’s strategic direction and member engagement across the UK’s imaging and oncology technology sector.

With over 35 years of experience in healthcare technology, Childe has worked across three AXREM member companies and brings a wealth of insight, leadership and sector-wide collaboration. He has played a pivotal role in AXREM’s development, serving as chair of the imaging IT special focus group and more recently as convener of the cyber security group. His work has championed interoperability, digital resilience and patient-centric innovation.

“My career has been defined by a commitment to collaboration, innovation and raising standards across our industry. I look forward to strengthening AXREM’s voice as a trusted partner to the NHS and government, and ensuring all members, large and small, are actively engaged and represented,” Childe said.
