Celebrating International Women’s Day – Tanya Singh

Tanya Singh

Over the past decade, my career has been firmly rooted within the radiology and healthcare technology space. It has been a journey shaped by experience, adaptability and a growing appreciation for the role that well designed technology, strong teams and inclusive leadership play in improving patient care and strengthening healthcare systems.

I currently serve as chief commercial officer at Biotronics3D, a UK-based health technology company specialising in cloud-native imaging platforms. My role spans commercial strategy, partnerships, global expansion and organisational development, working closely with clinicians, engineers and healthcare providers across multiple markets. This breadth of responsibility has given me a front-row seat to both the opportunities and realities of scaling technology within complex clinical environments.

Working in radiology for the last 10 years has provided me with a wealth of experience across the ecosystem, from clinical workflows and imaging operations to product development, commercial delivery and international market expansion. It has also instilled a deep respect for the pressures that radiology teams face daily, and reinforced the importance of technology that genuinely supports care delivery rather than adding complexity or disruption.

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned along the way is that success in healthcare technology is rarely about the product alone. It is about people: the teams building the platforms, the clinicians using them and the leadership that enables alignment between innovation and real-world clinical need. This perspective has guided how I approach my role, particularly when supporting healthcare providers across both established systems and emerging markets.

Alongside my executive role, I advise start-ups and global networks in healthcare and technology, helping turn breakthrough ideas into scalable, sustainable solutions, and I am the co-founder and contributing editor of the FemTech Healthcare Network, a platform focused on amplifying women-led innovation across healthcare technology. This work is closely aligned with my core career in radiology and health technology, and reflects a broader commitment to visibility, opportunity and representation for women across the sector. Through this platform, I have seen firsthand the impact that access, advocacy and community can have in helping women progress and lead.

As a woman working in an industry that remains largely male-dominated, I have become increasingly reflective about the path that has brought me here. I am acutely aware that many of the opportunities I have had were made possible by women who challenged norms, broke barriers and created space for others to follow. Whether through visible leadership, quiet mentorship or simply choosing to stay the course in environments not always designed for them, their impact has been significant and lasting.

That reflection has reinforced my sense of responsibility to continue pushing those doors open. Supporting the next generation of women entering healthcare technology doesn’t always require formal programmes or initiatives; often it starts with visibility, honesty and a willingness to share experiences openly, including the challenges. I am passionate about contributing to environments where women feel confident stepping into leadership roles, bringing their perspectives to the table and shaping the future of healthcare innovation.

Beyond individual careers, what continues to motivate me most is the broader impact of the work we do. At Biotronics3D, we support healthcare providers across diverse geographies, from major urban centres to underserved regions, helping deliver more efficient, connected and patient-centred imaging services. Seeing technology improve access, workflows and outcomes remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.

International Women’s Day offers a valuable moment to pause and reflect, not only on the progress made, but on the work still to be done. I am grateful for the doors that have been opened by those before me, proud of the journey so far and committed to ensuring the path forward is wider, more inclusive and more accessible for those who will follow.
