Roll of Honour goes to Dr Charlotte Fowler

Dr Sabina Dizdarevic and Dr Charlotte Fowler

Dr Charlotte Fowler has been awarded the BNMS Roll of Honour in recognition of her contributions to nuclear medicine, medical education and professional leadership. Dr Fowler’s career is marked by dedication, resilience and a deep commitment to advancing the field, the BNMS says. Her training in radiology, alongside a growing passion for nuclear medicine, was shaped by many mentors at centres across the UK including Cardiff, Great Ormond Street and Cambridge. Dr Fowler served in four consultant posts, helping develop nuclear medicine services at each. Following retirement from full-time NHS practice, she has continued to contribute as a locum, recently supporting the development of new SPECT/CT services at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

She has demonstrated commitment to education and training and this continued after her retirement from full-time NHS employment. Her involvement with the BNMS, ARSAC and the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board has helped shape training standards and professional development across the UK. A defining achievement of her recent work has been her pivotal role in establishing the new postgraduate nuclear medicine courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
