Philips UKI’s recent MR User Group meeting at The Lowry in Manchester was voted a huge success by attendees and the company is already planning its next one.

The meeting was opened by senior business line manager and oncology lead Annette Schmidt who said: “At Philips we are very aware of the constant changes and developments that take place in MR imaging, and it is part of our continuing support for our customers to keep them up-to-date with the very latest techniques.  In addition, we also strive to support their day-to-day working environment, providing a forum to exchange ideas and practices.”

In addition to formal sessions, the day was an opportunity to network.  Comments from attendees included an appreciation of the venue, as well as overall top marks for the programme, particularly the clinical presentations.  Superintendent radiographer MRI Alistair Day from St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight, said: “With the current climate of pressure on the NHS and services, it was a chance to share experiences and problems with other scanning centres, helping to provide reassurances and ideas for solutions.”
