Independent ultrasound quality assurance (QA) services provider Multi-Medix was formed with a principal aim: to increase the uptake of ultrasound QA for the safety of patients.
At BMUS the company will be demonstrating the Multi-Medix Phantom. Users can test-drive the fully portable, user-friendly and cost-effective phantom device. It assists ultrasound departments with meeting the ultrasound QA guidance from BMUS, The Society and College of Radiographers and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, as well as addressing the Recommendations for specialists practising ultrasound independently of radiology departments, published by BMUS and The Royal College of Radiologists in April 2023.
The Multi-Medix Phantom is a natural progression in the company’s mission to demystify ultrasound QA. “Many will already be familiar with the Diagnostic Ultrasound Quality Assurance Manual that our team developed four years ago,” it says. “Alongside the Multi-Medix QA probe test tool it remains an invaluable guide to ultrasound user QA.” Both will be available on the stand and online.
The launch of the phantom comes when there is an increased interest in ultrasound QA, often due to Quality Standard for Imaging accreditation or following advice from the Care Quality Commission. Last year alone, Multi-Medix trained more than 150 sonographers through its QA Everyday and Probe Care courses. This jargon-free training enables users to implement habitual safety processes.
Multi-Medix says it continues to offer a range of independent ultrasound testing services on a one-off or ongoing basis, helping to ensure optimum image quality and patient safety.
The BMUS conference is an excellent opportunity to ask Multi-Medix any questions on ultrasound QA. The company looks forward to meeting you at stand 26.
