Lorn and Islands Hospital has installed a multi-purpose R/F system, choosing the Toshiba Ultimax-i with large flat panel detector. The Oban-based hospital forms a hub for acute and community services in the area.
Consultant radiologist Dr Peter Thorpe said: “The hospital needed a truly multi-purpose system, one that was capable of performing plain radiography, fluoroscopy and gastro-intestinal procedures. With its large 43 x 43cm flat panel detector, Toshiba’s Ultimax-i proved to be the best choice for us. It offered a highly efficient solution, enabling all these procedures to be carried out on one system.
“The new advanced digital compensation filter and super noise reduction filter add excellent image quality in plain radiography, making the system a perfect back-up for the general radiography room. In addition, the latest software release for the system offers further improvements in radiography and fluoroscopy image processing.”
