Positive breast exam experience prompts letter

News

At Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust are, in front, deputy superintendent radiographer Debbie Garrod and superintendent radiographer Judith Berrill.   Behind them are Philips Healthcare mammography applications specialist Runya Mukanganwa and mammography sales specialist Donna Webb.

Ipswich NHS Trust has purchased two Philips MicroDose L30 full-field digital mammography systems, one of which has been installed in a mobile trailer and the second in a relocatable screening room.  The trust is now able to implement age extension, as part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme.

The screening room replaced a permanently sited mobile unit and both systems replaced analogue x-ray equipment.

Superintendent radiographer Judith Berrill said: “There has been a very positive response to the equipment and one lady even wrote to the local paper about her experience.  In addition, one of our radiologists has commented on the improvement in image quality and technique.”
