In an industry where reliability is essential, selecting the right long-term imaging equipment partner can be just as important as the equipment itself, according to imaging equipment supplier Probo Medical.

“It’s no longer just about securing the right system at an affordable price, it’s about building a long-term relationship that can support you with everything clinical and in-between,” states the company. “As organisations continue to face tightening budgets within healthcare, choosing a company that can support not only your imaging needs, but your service and maintenance requirements, can ensure each system has longevity.”

The first step, says Probo Medical, is to look for a provider that demonstrates the full life cycle solution. After supplying a system, they should understand how equipment ages and how to plan for upgrades, part replacements and service continuity. If a hospital has multiple systems with different OEMs, only a fraction of providers can support the full range of OEM parts for a whole imaging portfolio.

Secondly, clear explanations of system history, realistic uptime expectations nd choosing the right service contract plan is vital to avoid unexpected costs.

Thirdly, consider the depth of technical support. Fast response times and access to OEM-qualified engineers will allow systems to remain reliable long after installation.
