Radioaerosol delivery system offers good patient compliance

Available from Diagnostic Imaging Limited (DIL), SmartVent combines state-of-the-art aerosol generation with a disposable, single use, radioaerosol delivery system that is designed to give unrivalled performance for lung ventilation imaging. It is designed to produce scans of high quality, with a significant reduction in non-specific uptake compared to other radioaerosol systems, says DIL, combined with excellent patient compliance and high efficiency. “A significantly lower dose of radioactive tracer than other systems will lower the radiation burden to staff and patients,” the company says.
The SmartVent Aerosol Generator uses new technology to produce consistently sized droplets with a high efficiency. The hardware is loaned to hospitals free of charge.
EndolucinBeta, also supplied by DIL, is a radiopharmaceutical precursor for targeted radionuclide therapies and contains the active substance 177Lu chloride as a no-carrier-added (n.c.a.) radioisotope. “The use of n.c.a. 177Lu is excellent for the efficacy and quality of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. The production route of EndolucinBeta takes advantage of highly enriched Ytterbium-176 as a starting material, thereby providing the highest specific activity and an unprecedented level of radionuclidic purity,” states DIL.
EndolucinBeta has EU marketing authorisation and GMP certification. Other features include: highest specific activity at ART (activity reference time) ≥3,000GBq/mg; there is no contamination with long-lived 177mLu; it is available year-round; choose the day of ART according to needs; and sterile/endotoxin-tested.
