Philips Healthcare has installed its new generation of interventional x-ray systems, the AlluraClarity, at Frimley Park Hospital.  Lead interventional radiographer Jayne Stevenson said: “We chose the system because of its image quality. We already have a ceiling mounted Allura and we wanted to match the quality.

“The AlluraClarity system means that we give much lower radiation doses.  We also have the FlexVision XL monitor which, with its large 56″ screen, means that we do not have to use magnification so often, reducing our dose even more.” Stevenson pointed out that, as the Philips system is user-friendly, training has been straightforward and radiographers have quickly developed confidence with the controls. “We also have Philips Allura in our cardiac cath labs, which means that training across the modalities is much easier,” she said.
