NHS Lothian’s medical physics department has taken delivery of a RaySafe i2 real-time dosimetry system.
An active dosimetry system that gives real-time insight into staff radiation exposure RaySafe i2 will help operators to quickly change their behaviour to minimise radiation dose. The dosimeter will also be used to promote good radiation protection practice and as a teaching and training tool for those working in clinical areas with high dose rates.
Being mobile, the system can be used in cardiology, interventional suites, CT fluoroscopy and general screening rooms throughout Lothian.
