At King’s College Hospital are research nurse Sarah Casboult, Philips Healthcare POC sales specialist Vanessa Light and consultant Dr Phil Hopkins.

A research programme into critical care imaging at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is being assisted with the installation of a Philips Sparq mobile ultrasound scanner.

King’s Health Partners consultant and honorary senior lecture in intensive care medicine Dr Phil Hopkins said: “I purchased the Sparq because it provides an imaging platform most suited to inter-professional critical care use.  My interest in ultrasound is as a lever for inter-professional approaches to critical care imaging, I have a particular focus on nurse-led practice.  We are currently conducting a feasibility study to this end, including the development of a nurse-led, super user group, and the collection of baseline data and images.”
