RF cage order is 50th for ‘popular’ MRI scanner

Envirotect has secured an order for the installation of an RF cage to house its 50th Siemens Healthineers Magnetom Sola 1.5T MRI scanner. Managing director Niven Smith explained: “This is our 50th RF cage installation to house a Magnetom Sola 1.5T MRI scanner.

“This particular system helps healthcare providers perform a full range of routine and complex MR examinations while accelerating workflow and delivering consistent results. Although other MRI scanners are available, the Sola appears to be a popular choice within the healthcare industry.”

Envirotect’s copper MRI shielding system is manufactured at its premises in Leighton Buzzard. Framework for the cage is manufactured in panels before being transported to site and moved into position, where small adjustments are made before final installation.

Manufacturing the panels, window and door in advance saves time on site during tight build schedules. Contracts manager Howard Nutkins visits sites at least once to verify conditions and dimensions, which helps to ensure the accurate manufacture of a custom room.
