A digital installation has improved the versatility of x-rays at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.  An Aero DR was retrofitted to an x-ray room that had been underused, with the aim that it becomes a paediatric room in future.

Lead radiographer for general x-ray and theatre Mathew Graham said: “The Aero DR provided us with an affordable solution for a room that has a lower throughput due to limited space. A retrofit removed the need to replace the entire system.  Our long-term goal is to turn it into a paediatric specific room and waiting area.  This will enable the department to have paediatric rooms in the emergency department and general x-ray.”
