Royal Derby Hospital upgrades its primary interventional room with Philips equipment

Royal Derby Hospital first welcomed patients to its state-of-the-art hybrid theatre in late 2022. Philips provided an Azurion FlexArm system for the project, which supports the hospital in treating patients using complex vascular procedures.
Interventional radiology and fluoroscopy superintendent radiographer Sarah Barker said: “This hybrid suite has been a real asset to us; it has allowed us to do more complex procedures and the working environment is a pleasure to be a part of. We have been a reference site for Philips and we have been proud to showcase our new room.”
The hospital has also upgraded its main vascular room and installed modern equipment from Philips.

Clinical manager Mark Prince added: “The new room will benefit patients by allowing more complex procedures safely and efficiently. Having such advanced specialised equipment at our disposal gives us enormous flexibility.”
The theatre equipment, provided by Philips, is said to be some of the most advanced available and, as such, the theatre will be used as a training and reference centre for Philips, meaning healthcare professionals from across the country will be using this facility as a blueprint for other organisations to follow.
