At Royal Liverpool University Hospital for the opening of a Somatom Definition Flash are Siemens regional sales manager John Brady, Siemens CT business manager Russell Lodge, Karen Baird, Julie Houghton and Caroline Smart of the senior CT team, cardiologist Dr Sharma (seated), cardiologist Dr Ruzsics, and senior CT team members Nancy Nicholas and Sophie Freeman.
Royal Liverpool University Hospital, part of Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, has unveiled a new Somatom Definition Flash CT scanner from Siemens Healthcare. The system is the first in the north west and was officially opened by High Sheriff of Merseyside Professor Helen Carty. The trust expects to provide a wider range of services to patients.
“The Definition Flash will allow us to offer a wider range of services and place the hospital as a leader in the north west for medical scanning,” said CT superintendent Julie Houghton. “We believe that it is the best CT system available on the market for cardiac procedures in particular, and are pleased to be able to see patients quickly while maintaining low dose levels.”
