Royal London receives portable platform

Pictured following delivery and training on a Terason uSmart 3200t ultrasound system at The Royal London Hospital are regional anaesthesia lead Dr Tim Egan, operating department practitioner Grace Ito and Vertec product specialist Gavin Adcock.  The system was supplied by Vertec Scientific and wholly funded by a grant from Barts Charity.

Vertec says that ultrasound is becoming the imaging modality of choice for anaesthetists to accurately guide their needle to the right place, as it shows veins and nerves so well and repeated imaging carries the minimum risk.  The Terason 3200t is a portable ultrasound system that can be used in a hospital setting or a variety of hostile environments including ambulances and helicopters.
