Cancer specialists from across Europe have visited The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Wirral to share their knowledge on an increasingly in-demand radiotherapy treatment. More than 100 delegates made up of clinical oncologists, physicists and radiographers attended the ninth UK stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) consortium meeting.
Guest speakers at the event were international experts Joost Nuyttens and Max Dahele from the Netherlands. Nuyttens, a radiation oncologist at the VU University Medical Centre, Amsterdam, said: “Clatterbridge is held in high regard locally and internationally and has a long tradition of therapy innovations, so it is the ideal host for this meeting. It has a strong SABR team and plays a key role in promoting the technique in the UK for the benefit of patients.”
