Salford upgrades x-ray to digital and expects reduced wait times

Salford Royal Hospital has enhanced patient care following the digital upgrade of its x-ray facilities by Konica Minolta. The retrofitting of four rooms with digital imaging capacity, without the need to replace equipment, has reduced waiting times for patients.
Imaging strategy lead in clinical support services and tertiary medicine Elaine Quick explained that Konica Minolta’s Aero technology, supplied by Wolverson X-ray, would transform patient experience: “Our trust serves not only the city of Salford but provides specialist services to greater Manchester and beyond. As a result, we process around 30,000 x-rays each year. The speed at which the system provides images means waits in both inpatients and outpatients will drastically reduce.”
