Scanner centre receives positive feedback from health watchdog

Paul Strickland Scanner Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood has been given the thumbs-up by England’s health watchdog following a recent inspection.
An unannounced visit by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessed care at the centre and looked at whether the service is safe, responsive, well-led and caring. Inspectors rated the centre as “good” across the board, which means that the CQC considers a health provider to be performing well and meeting the commission’s expectations.
Paul Strickland Scanner Centre is an independent medical charity and receives no government funding. Last year, the charity provided nearly 18,000 CT, MRI and PETCT scans.
Paul Strickland Scanner Centre ceo Claire Strickland said: “Our team is totally dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients and delivering world-class medical research, and we are thrilled about this fantastic result. CQC inspectors set a very high standard and being rated as good is something we are very proud of.”
