Scunthorpe can carry out nuchal scanning with ease

Ultrasound clinical lead Kirsty Kent with ultrasonographers Beverley Logan, Karin Hutson, Emma Marrian, Wayne Pattinson and Jane Wood at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

Over the past 15 months, Scunthorpe General Hospital, part of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has undertaken  a major capital investment programme.  A new purpose-built obstetrics department was completed in 2010 and an imaging suite incorporating ultrasound, MRI and CT is due to come on line in August.

The purchase of four Toshiba Aplio MX machines and a portable Viamo machine came in the middle of these developments and provided standardisation of all ultrasound equipment across the three sites in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole, allowing ease-of-use by trust staff.

Ultrasound lead Kirsty Kent said: “The machines are easy to use, reliable, ergonomic and PACS compatible, providing excellent imaging quality in all areas of ultrasound.”
