Second Philips ultrasound this year for Derriford

Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital vascular scientists Richard Craven, Alan Ellison and Jacqui George.

A second Philips iU22 ultrasound scanner has been purchased for Derriford Hospital’s vascular assessment unit.

Both systems are replacement machines and come with the latest software for vascular scanning.  Vascular scientist Jacqui George said: “The main reason for selecting Philips equipment is its excellent colour sensitivity, plus the fact that we like the ease of use.  Its size is better for transporting and use on the wards; it is also a very intuitive system and gives us lots of control manipulation during vascular examinations.  We find the volume flow measurement package very easy to use.”
