Shrewsbury opts for a softer belly board

After a review of belly boards for patients undergoing radiotherapy treatments for colon and rectum, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital chose SofTouch Elite Bellyboard systems from Oncology Imaging Systems.
With removable cushions for custom set-up, the belly board is an adjustable stabilisation platform that provides multiple indexing locations to ensure precise, repeatable positioning.
Pre-treatment superintendent Stephanie Cockerill said: “The design of the belly board was what first attracted us to it. The fact that it was all one piece was a big advantage and that it was indexed and all the pieces clearly labelled means that it is easy to replicate from pre-treatment to treatment.”
