Southmead invests in latest systems for cardiology

Philips Healthcare cardiac ultrasound applications specialist Iain Rider, cardiac physiologists Angela Neilson, Amira Prescott, Nicola Giles, Caroline Bird, Samantha Hill and Jotham Gcumisa, administrative assistant Karen Gannaway and cardiac physiologist Laura Quinn.

Southmead Hospital, part of North Bristol NHS Trust, has purchased two Philips premium Epiq cardiac ultrasound systems and a CX50 ultrasound scanner for its cardiology unit. The department is located in the Brunel building, a £340m project described as one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the country.  The 800-bed building has single rooms with en-suite facilities and single sex four-bed wards.
