Standardised systems help Northumbria trust meet quality aims

Pictured at the handover of three Samsung RS80A general imaging ultrasound systems to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are radiology assistant Claire Elgie, MIS Healthcare clinical applications specialist Vicki Hyde, advanced practitioners for ultrasound Shiromi Angus and Ciara O’Keefe, radiology assistant Lisa Milbourne, trust lead advanced practitioner Richard Morrell, consultant radiologist Dr Fernando Santiago and MIS ultrasound account manager John Rimmer.

Two systems have been installed in North Tyneside General Hospital’s ultrasound department with the third system located at Wansbeck General Hospital.

Richard Morrell said: “Quality centred patient care is at the forefront of everything we do and one major aspect of quality within our radiology departments is the standardisation of the equipment we use.  For us Samsung and MIS ticked all the boxes.  We found these new-to-market systems offered a fresh outlook on what an ultrasound machine should be.”
