At Kettering General Hospital are superintendent radiographer Janet Mallott, cardiac physiologist Leanne Ivanoff, deputy superintendent radiographer Yasmin Hassim, cath lab nurse Nicola Clarke, assistant practitioner Alison Meaker, senior radiographer Lauren Curtis, cath lab nurse Rachel Holloway and senior cardiac physiologist Adam Miller with Philips Healthcare’s account manager Natalie Parkin, customer services team leader Phil Worville, district general manager central and west Rob Davies and account manager Peter Leigh.
Increased workload in Kettering General Hospital’s dedicated cardiac centre has led to the installation of a state-of-the-art Philips Allura Xper FD10 to provide a third cardiac cath lab. The hospital has had two cath labs since 2009 but its workload has increased since the introduction of a 24/7 primary PCI (primary percutaneous coronary intervention) service in 2010.
Superintendent radiographer Janet Mallott said: “We selected the equipment for its imaging quality, ease of use and lower radiation doses. The DoseAware dose meter helps staff to work safely in the lab by increasing their awareness of the radiation doses they receive.
“Our cardiologists find StentBoost extremely useful during PCI procedures. Its exceptional visualisation of the stents deployed has assisted cardiologists in quick decision making.”
