Sunderland Royal increases emergency CT capacity

Sunderland Royal Hospital has installed an Aquilion One Genesis Edition CT system in its newly-built emergency department.

CT modality lead Cheryl Bean said: “Our new CT scanner, located within the footprint of our new ED, will allow us to provide faster access for the scanning of patients presenting to the department.  We chose a Canon Medical Systems scanner to add to our two existing systems within radiology.  The ease-of-use of the scanning platform allows transferable skills between all three scanners.”
