Three Hitachi Preirus scanners for Bedford

Bedford General Hospital has purchased three new Hitachi Preirus ultrasound scanners as part of an ongoing replacement programme. Pictured at the handover and applications training are, from left, Hitachi-Aloka applications specialist Shada Sadr-Azodi, sonographers Sophie Hutchings and Debbie Owen and consultant radiologists Dr Muhammad Sheikh and Dr Baiju Prasad.
The scanners will be sued for a wide range of clinical applications including paediatrics, MSK, gynaecology, thyroid, testis, abdominal, and vascular. Superintendent sonographer Caroline Byrne commented: “Having trialled several ultrasound scanners, we decided on the Hitachi Preirus for its excellent image quality and ease of use. The control panel is intuitive and the touchscreen a useful addition. The TV probes are lightweight and thus much more comfortable to scan with, while the resolution of the MSK probe is excellent.”
