Advanced radiographer practitioner David Myers with radiographer Jane Stretton.
The Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust has purchased five dDR mobile x-ray systems. The MobileDaRt Evolution systems from Xograph Healthcare, are the first to be supplied in the UK with the latest Canon CXDI-55C lightweight detectors.
One of the Evolutions is fitted with the new Canon CXDI-60C 23 x 28 cm detector, described as the smallest, lightest DR detector available today, and primarily used for neonatal care in the trust’s special care baby unit (SCBU).
All the MobileDaRt systems are configured to allow easy change of detectors so that the radiographer can routinely fit the detector to any of the other configured systems, and vice-versa, as and when required.
The unit can be moved effortlessly around the hospital due to the advanced safety features, including forward field of view, auto-stop sensors and excellent motor-drive characteristics.
The system is useful for all bedside examinations where instant access to high quality diagnostic images is vital. Accurate unit positioning can be achieved by an innovative “inch mover” feature, coupled with smooth counterbalanced movements ensuring that the unit is ready for the next exposure within minutes.
